About

가장 기괴하고 화려한 벌새 중 하나인 수컷 부츠라켓꼬리벌새(Ocreatus underwoodii)는 과시 비행 중 뒤로 늘어지는 확대된 주걱 모양의 라켓 끝이 달린 길쭉한 외부 꼬리 깃털을 가지고 있으며, 다리에는 흰색의 솜털 같은 깃털 부츠가 달려 있습니다. 콜롬비아, 에콰도르, 베네수엘라의 해발 300~2,100미터 습한 안데스 산림에 서식합니다. 수컷은 라켓을 빙글빙글 돌리고 빛을 반사시키며 암컷에게 급강하 과시 비행을 합니다. 신열대 벌새 중 가장 많이 촬영되는 종 중 하나입니다.
