About
Uno de los lagomorfos más prolíficos y ampliamente distribuidos del mundo, el conejo europeo (Oryctolagus cuniculus) habita praderas, prados y matorrales desde la Península Ibérica —su área de distribución nativa— hasta todos los continentes excepto la Antártida como especie introducida a nivel mundial. Viviendo en complejas madrigueras subterráneas en grupos sociales, los conejos son una especie presa clave que sustenta a águilas, zorros, linces y hurones allí donde se encuentran. Su rápida tasa de reproducción los convierte tanto en especies ecológicamente vitales como en un desafío como especie invasora.
