Pedobacter kyungheensis e uma bactéria gram-negativa em forma de bastão, isolada pela primeira vez de solo próximo à Universidade Kyung Hee, na Coreia do Sul. Habita solos agrícolas e naturais temperados do leste da Ásia. Este quimio-heterótrofo aeróbio decompõe matéria orgânica e polissacarídeos em seu hábitat edáfico por meio da produção de enzimas extracelulares.
