아마존수련(Victoria amazonica)은 세계에서 가장 큰 수련으로, 지름 최대 3미터에 달하는 원형 부유 잎은 어린이의 무게를 지탱할 수 있으며, 잎 가장자리는 최대 20 cm 높이로 위쪽으로 휘어져 있다. 아마존 유역의 따뜻하고 얕은 수역이 원산지이며, 밤에 흰 꽃이 피어 딱정벌레 화분 매개자를 가두었다가 이튿날 분홍색으로 변하면서 꽃가루를 묻힌 딱정벌레를 내보낸다. 아마존 생물 다양성의 상징적 종이다.
