About

A medium-sized, attractively patterned tanager with warm fawn-buff underparts and contrasting blue-grey and black upper parts, fawn-breasted tanagers inhabit humid forest edges, secondary woodland, and garden hedges in the Andes from Colombia to Argentina at elevations of 1,000–2,600 meters. They are found in pairs or small groups foraging on berries and fruit in the mid-storey. They often associate with mixed-species flocks. Listed as Least Concern with stable Andean populations across a broad elevational range.
