Inhabits tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests within the Oceanian biogeographic realm.
Widely distributed across Africa (Eswatini, Lesotho, South Africa), Asia (Philippines, Taiwan), and Oceania and the Pacific (Kiribati).

Pedobacter suwonensis is a gram-negative bacterium in the family Sphingobacteriaceae, originally isolated from soil in Suwon, South Korea.
