Sulfolobus yangmingensis is a hyperthermophilic, aerobic archaeon in the family Sulfolobaceae, isolated from acidic hot springs in Taiwan's Yangmingshan National Park. It thrives at high temperatures (65-90°C) and low pH (2-5), oxidizing sulfur and organic compounds for energy. Like other Sulfolobus species, it has been studied for its remarkable adaptation to extreme heat and acidity.

Habitat & Distribution

Native to Asia, inhabiting ecosystems characteristic of the region.
