About

Um pequeno e discreto beija-flor eremita de florestas secas e úmidas dos Andes, da Colômbia à Bolívia, os beija-flores-de-queixo-cinza têm partes superiores pardacentas, queixo cinza e partes inferiores de buff pálido com cauda central com ponta branca — uma paleta sutil em comparação com muitos beija-flores. Habitam o sub-bosque de floresta e bordas de floresta arbustiva em elevações de 300–1.600 metros, seguindo rotas sistemáticas de armadilha para visitar plantas floridas. Os machos se reúnem em leks para atrair fêmeas por meio de vocalização persistente.
