Ensifer saheli é uma alfaproteobactéria fixadora de nitrogênio da família Rhizobiaceae, originalmente isolada de nódulos radiculares de leguminosas Sesbania e Acacia na África Saheliana. Forma simbioses efetivas com seus hospedeiros leguminosos em solos tropicais pobres em nutrientes e semiáridos, contribuindo para a fertilidade do solo em ambientes com margens agrícolas. Seu nome reflete sua origem na região do Sahel.
