Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

O dragão-de-komodo é o maior lagarto vivo. É encontrado apenas em algumas ilhas indonésias.
Microcalicium ahlneri e um liquen minusculo com talo cinza palido e minusculos apotecios pediculados, caracteristicos dos fungos calicioides. Cresce na casca de velhas arvores deciduas em florestas temperadas nao perturbadas da Europa. Este liquen necessita de condicoes de floresta antiga e e sensi vel a mudancas no microhabitat da casca causadas por poluicao do ar ou manejo florestal.
