Habitat & Geographic Range
Komodo Dragon
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.
Found in Indonesia. Currently classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List, this species faces significant conservation challenges across its range.
Halostella salina é uma archaea extremamente halófila que forma cocos irregulares em ambientes hipersalinos. Habita lagos salinos, nascentes salinas e lagoas de evaporação solar onde as concentrações de sal se aproximam da saturação. Esta archaea aeróbica e quimioorganoheterótrofa requer concentrações de sal extremamente altas para crescimento e obtém energia de compostos orgânicos em seu habitat de salmoura.
