자주등가시부리벌새(Ramphomicron microrhynchum)는 수컷이 빛나는 보라-자주색 등과 허리 깃털을 가진 작고 보석 같은 고산 벌새로, 짧은 관 모양 꽃에 적합한 짧은 부리가 특징이다. 베네수엘라, 콜롬비아, 에콰도르, 페루의 해발 2,500~4,500미터 파라모 초지와 운무림 가장자리에 서식한다. 작은 체구에도 꽃 무리에서 영역을 공격적으로 방어하며, 고도에 특화된 가장 추위에 잘 적응한 벌새 중 하나이다.
