검은넓적다리털다리벌새(Eriocnemis derbyi)는 수컷의 특징적인 흑색 허벅지가 흰 다리털 장식과 대비되어 이름이 붙은 안데스 지역 벌새입니다. 해발 1,500~3,500m의 에콰도르와 콜롬비아 운무림과 숲 가장자리에 서식합니다. 수컷은 남빛 보라색 꼬리를 가진 반짝이는 녹색 깃털을 보여줍니다. 고지대 운무림이 농업으로 개간되면서 개체수가 감소하고 있어 준위협종(NT)으로 분류됩니다.
