シマノドヤドリハチドリ(Phaethornis striigularis)はメキシコ南部から中央アメリカを経て南アメリカ北部にかけての湿潤林の下層部に生息する小型の隠者ハチドリです。緑色の上面と独特の白い縞の顔、ヘリコニアやショウガの花に適応した湾曲した嘴を持ちます。密林内の固定したトラップライン蜜源ルートを辿ります。雄はレクで集合し、雌を誘引するために持続的な反復的な歌を歌います。分布域全体で下層のヘリコニアやコストゥス植物の重要な送粉者です。
