About

グローイングパフレッグは、コロンビアから南エクアドルにかけての北アンデスに生息する鮮やかなパフレッグハチドリで、明るい光の下でほぼ発光するような輝く虹色の緑の羽毛を持ち、これが種の名前の由来となっている。標高1,800〜3,500mの湿潤山地林に生息する。雄は特徴的な白い脚のパフと輝く紫青色の尾を持つ。アンデス高山の花卉植物の重要な送粉者であり、軽度懸念に指定されている。
