Coprinopsis pseudofriesiiは成熟時に液化する淡い灰色の傘を持つ小型インクキャップキノコで、シャギーインクキャップと近縁関係にある。温帯の森林で栄養豊富な土壌、古い堆肥、埋もれた木質残骸の近くに生育する。この腐生菌は森林土壌生息地で有機物と木質物質を分解する。
