Flagelloscypha punctiformis は外表面に剛毛状の毛を持つ白色〜クリーム色の極小型の子嚢盤を形成する毛コップ菌である。ヨーロッパの温帯林の広葉樹の枯れ枝に生育し、枯死した木質植物材料を分解する腐生子嚢菌類である。
