Reyranella massiliensis is a freshwater alpha-proteobacterium originally isolated from an amoeba culture, belonging to the family Reyranellaceae. It inhabits freshwater environments and may have ecological relationships with protozoan grazers. This bacterium was first described from samples obtained in the Marseille region of France, hence its species name.
