El loro senegalés (Poicephalus senegalus) es un loro africano de tamano mediano y compacto, con plumaje verde-amarillo y pardo anaranjado y un patron diagnostico de cabeza negra y amarilla. Habita bosques abiertos y bordes de bosque en toda Africa Occidental, desde Senegal hasta Camerun y Chad. Muy valorado como ave de compania por su personalidad juguetona, capacidad de imitar sonidos y fuerte vinculo con sus duenos. Resistente y adaptable, es comun en zonas agricolas y esta muy presionado por el comercio de mascotas. Clasificado como Preocupacion Menor.
