About

El loro carirrufo (Hapalopsittaca amazonina) es un loro de tamano mediano de los bosques nublados de alta altitud y las laderas andinas de Colombia y Venezuela. Tiene plumaje verde con una cara y frente de color naranja rufo caracteristico. Habita bosques montanos humedos entre 1.500 y 3.000 metros de altitud y esta poco estudiado debido a su habitat remoto y escarpado. Clasificado como Vulnerable debido a la deforestacion continua de los bosques nublados andinos. Se desplaza estacionalmente siguiendo la disponibilidad de alimento a lo largo de las crestas boscosas.
