El loro lomirrojo (Psephotus haematonotus) es un loro australiano de tamano mediano y marcado dimorfismo sexual. Los machos lucen un vistoso plumaje verde con lomo y subcaudales de color rojo brillante, que lo convierte en uno de los loros comunes mas coloridos de Australia, mientras que las hembras tienen un verde y oliva mas discreto. Se distribuye por pastizales abiertos, matorrales y terrenos ligeramente arbolados en la mayor parte de Australia.
