Pontibacter korlensis es una bacteria Gram-negativa de pigmentacion naranja aislada por primera vez en suelos salinos cerca de Korla, Xinjiang, China. Habita suelos deserticos aridos y entornos terrestres salinos de Asia Central. Este quimioheterotrofo aerobio produce pigmentos carotenoides y esta adaptado a condiciones extremas de aridez y salinidad.

Habitat & Distribution

Native to Asia, inhabiting ecosystems characteristic of the region.
