About

El pinzón de pico de cera más extendido de África, el pinzón de pico de cera común es originario del África subsahariana, pero ha sido introducido en la Península Ibérica, Brasil, Hawái y varias islas del Atlántico, convirtiéndose en uno de los pájaros de jaula escapados más distribuidos del mundo. Pequeños y vivaces pinzones con pico rojo y una franja roja por el ojo, habitan praderas densas y zonas cercanas al agua. Muy gregarios, suelen verse en grandes bandadas mixtas con otros estríldidos.
