Habitat & Geographic Range
León
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, and flooded grasslands and savannas, among 7 distinct biome types spanning the Afrotropic and Neotropic and Oceanian realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.
Distributed across Colombia, Ecuador, and Kenya. Currently classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, this species faces significant conservation challenges across its range.
Native to Asia, inhabiting ecosystems characteristic of the region.
Found in Taiwan.
León
El felino salvaje más grande de Africa, el león puede alcanzar hasta 250 kg y es el único félido social, viviendo en manadas en sabanas y praderas del Africa subsahariana. Vibrio mimicus es una varilla curvada gram-negativa estrechamente relacionada con Vibrio cholerae pero bioquímicamente distinta. Habita agua de mar costera, estuarios y mariscos en entornos marinos tropicales y subtropicales cálidos. Esta bacteria facultativamente anaerobia puede causar enfermedad gastrointestinal en humanos que consumen mariscos crudos contaminados.
