Arcyria rubrobrunnea es un mixomicete (moho mucilaginoso) que produce esporangios cilíndricos de color rojo-marrón a marrón oscuro agrupados sobre madera en descomposición en entornos forestales húmedos. Su capilicio forma una estructura reticular expansiva tras la ruptura del peridio, facilitando la liberación y dispersión de esporas. Esta especie se encuentra en bosques templados y tropicales de múltiples continentes.
