Berberitzen-Kugelpilz

Cucurbitaria berberidis is a pyrenomycete fungus that parasitizes dead branches and bark of Berberis (barberry) shrubs, producing clustered, flask-shaped black fruiting bodies on the host's woody tissue. It is found across Europe and temperate Asia wherever its host plant occurs. This saprotrophic to weakly parasitic fungus contributes to the decomposition of woody shrub material.
