Nitzschia modesta is a small pennate diatom in the family Bacillariaceae, inhabiting freshwater to slightly brackish environments. Its elongate frustule with a sigmoid raphe is characteristic of the large and ecologically diverse genus Nitzschia. As a benthic or epiphytic microalga, it contributes to biofilm communities on submerged surfaces.

Nitzschia suchlandti is a pennate diatom in the family Bacillariaceae inhabiting freshwater environments, characterized by its narrow, elongate frustule with a sigmoid or sinuous raphe canal. Like other members of the large genus Nitzschia, it contributes to benthic and planktonic algal communities and serves as a bioindicator of water chemistry and organic pollution status.
