Methanofervidicoccus okinawensis is a thermophilic methanogenic archaeon in the family Methanocaldococcaceae, originally isolated from a hydrothermal vent system near Okinawa, Japan. It generates methane from hydrogen and carbon dioxide under high-temperature conditions. Its conservation status is not evaluated.
