Inhabits Mediterranean forests and woodlands within the Palearctic biogeographic realm. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

Staphylococcus arlettae is a coagulase-negative Gram-positive coccus forming grape-like clusters. It has been isolated from skin surfaces of domestic animals including poultry and goats. This commensal bacterium inhabits the skin and mucosal surfaces of mammals and birds, rarely causing disease but occasionally found in clinical specimens.
