Dinobryon divergens is a colonial, loricate chrysophyte alga distinguished by its vase-shaped siliceous loricae arranged in branching chains. It inhabits freshwater lakes and ponds, particularly in oligotrophic to mesotrophic cool-water environments across the Northern Hemisphere.
