Cryptomonas minor is a small freshwater cryptomonad alga with a compressed, bean-shaped cell body containing phycobilin-bearing plastids, found in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving water bodies. It uses two flagella of unequal length for locomotion and is capable of photosynthesis.
