<em>Schoenoplectus acutus</em>, commonly known as common tule or hardstem bulrush, is a tall emergent aquatic plant in the family Cyperaceae native to wetlands across North America, particularly abundant in the western United States and Canada. It is a dominant species in freshwater marshes, lake margins, river edges, and tidal wetlands, forming extensive stands that provide critical habitat and ecosystem services.
