Habitat & Geographic Range
Common Seahorse
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 7 distinct biome types. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.
Distributed across Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, and Philippines. Currently classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, this species faces significant conservation challenges across its range.
Inhabits tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests and deserts and xeric shrublands within the Afrotropic biogeographic realm. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.

The common seahorse is found in tropical and temperate waters. Males carry and deliver the babies.
Vibrio cholerae is a Gram-negative, comma-shaped, highly motile aquatic bacterium and the causative agent of pandemic cholera disease in humans. It inhabits coastal estuaries, river deltas, and warm marine environments, often associated with plankton, particularly copepods. This facultatively anaerobic bacterium spreads through contaminated water and food, causing severe watery diarrhea with major public health impact.
