Cloud-borne aloe refers to an Aloe species native to high-elevation montane habitats in eastern or southern Africa, adapted to the misty, cloud-shrouded conditions of afromontane forest margins and rocky highland slopes. Aloe species at altitude typically experience different rainfall patterns, lower temperatures, and higher UV radiation than their lowland relatives, driving adaptations in leaf chemistry, water storage capacity, and root architecture.
