Cloud Sugarbush
Cloud sugarbush refers to a Protea species (family Proteaceae) native to the high-altitude fynbos and afromontane shrublands of South Africa, particularly from the misty cloud-bathed upper slopes of the Cape Fold Mountains where persistent summer fog supplements winter rainfall. Protea species of high-elevation fynbos habitats are adapted to the combination of nutrient-poor, acidic soils, periodic drought, and regular fire regimes that characterize these montane shrublands.
