The Big-Leaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum) is a species in the genus Acer. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Typically found in diverse terrestrial habitats from tropical forests to temperate regions.
Sphingobacterium yamdrokense is a yellow-pigmented Gram-negative rod first described from Yamdrok Lake in Tibet, China. It inhabits high-altitude lacustrine sediments and cold, alkaline lake environments of the Tibetan Plateau. This aerobic chemoheterotroph is adapted to the extreme conditions of high-altitude saline lakes.
