Pseudoperonospora urticae is an obligate biotrophic oomycete downy mildew pathogen in the family Peronosporaceae, infecting stinging nettle (Urtica) species. Its host specificity to nettles makes it an interesting model for studying coevolution between oomycete pathogens and their wild hosts.
