The Beggar'S-Buttons (Arctium lappa) is a species in the genus Arctium. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Inhabits temperate coniferous forests within the Palearctic biogeographic realm.

Pontibacter korlensis is a Gram-negative, orange-pigmented bacterium first isolated from saline soils near Korla, Xinjiang, China. It inhabits arid desert soils and saline terrestrial environments of Central Asia. This aerobic chemoheterotroph produces carotenoid pigments and is adapted to extreme arid and saline conditions.
