Chroococcus submarinus is a species of cyanobacteria in the family Chroococcaceae, documented from saline and brackish aquatic environments. The specific epithet submarinus indicates an association with marine or nearshore saline habitats, distinguishing this species from the many Chroococcus species found exclusively in freshwater.
