The Alectryon (Alectryon tropicus) is a species in the genus Alectryon. It is currently classified as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List. Typically found in diverse terrestrial habitats from tropical forests to temperate regions.
Pontibacter korlensis is a Gram-negative, orange-pigmented bacterium first isolated from saline soils near Korla, Xinjiang, China. It inhabits arid desert soils and saline terrestrial environments of Central Asia. This aerobic chemoheterotroph produces carotenoid pigments and is adapted to extreme arid and saline conditions.
