Tulasnella thelephorea is a corticioid basidiomycete forming thin, waxy, pale to cream-colored crusts on decaying wood and plant debris. It inhabits temperate and boreal forests across Europe and North America. This saprotrophic fungus decomposes dead wood and organic matter in woodland habitats.
