Collared Titi

The Collared Titi, known scientifically as Cheracebus torquatus, is a small New World monkey belonging to the family Pitheciidae. Cheracebus torquatus is characterised by its typically dense, soft fur and a pale or white collar or band around the neck and throat region, which gives the species its common and scientific names. Titi monkeys are generally arboreal and highly social, typically living in small family groups occupying territories in forested habitats. They are known for their distinctive pair-bonding behaviour and loud territorial vocalisations. The species inhabits diverse terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Detailed biological traits including typical lifespan, body length, and weight are poorly documented for this species in available literature. The Collared Titi is currently assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
