Diplocarpa bloxamii is a small, crustose lichen forming pale, granular thalli on soil and mossy substrates in temperate habitats. It inhabits open calcareous grasslands and rocky outcrops across Europe. This lichen obtains energy through photosynthesis by its algal partner and contributes to biological soil crust formation.
