Common green lacewing

<em>Chrysoperla carnea</em>, commonly known as the common green lacewing, is a neuropteran insect belonging to the genus Chrysoperla within the family Chrysopidae. This species inhabits virtually all terrestrial and freshwater habitats, and its range includes Denmark, Norway, and Sweden in Scandinavia, as well as the United States. Common green lacewing is widely recognized for the predatory behavior of its larvae, which feed on aphids and other small soft-bodied invertebrates, making the species of considerable interest in biological pest control. The adults are typically delicate, pale green insects with golden compound eyes and lacy, transparent wings. Biological traits of this species remain poorly documented in the scientific literature.
