Cheetah

Slender build with a deep chest, long legs, and distinctive black tear-stripe markings. Unlike other big cats, cheetahs vocalize with chirps and purrs. Lecanographa lyncea is a rare, crustose lichen that grows on the bark of ancient, veteran trees in old-growth woodland. It produces elongated lirellate apothecia and is considered one of the most sensitive indicators of undisturbed, long-continuity forest ecosystems in Europe. Critically Endangered, it faces severe threat from habitat loss, veteran tree decline, and air pollution.
