Common & Small-Fruited Yellow-Sedge

<em>Carex oederi</em>, commonly known as Common and Small-Fruited Yellow-Sedge, is a perennial sedge in the family Cyperaceae, order Poales. It is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, with populations considered stable across its primary range. This compact sedge is typically found in moist, open habitats including fens, wet grasslands, dune slacks, lakeshores, and other waterlogged or seasonally flooded environments. It favors calcareous or moderately acidic substrates and is often associated with other wetland and fen species. The geographic range of <em>Carex oederi</em> includes northern Europe, with confirmed populations in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the United States.
