<em>Clione limacina</em>, commonly known as the common clione or sea angel, is a small, shell-less marine gastropod mollusk in the family Clionidae. This pelagic species inhabits cold polar and subpolar ocean waters and has been recorded in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Common cliones typically drift through the water column in open ocean environments, often at depths ranging from the surface to several hundred meters. Their translucent bodies are typically a few centimeters long and display a distinctive gelatinous appearance with wing-like parapodia used for locomotion. These organisms are active predators, primarily targeting pteropod mollusks, which they capture using specialized buccal cones. The species is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN, reflecting a stable population in its native cold-water range.
