Coleofasciculus chthonoplastes is a filamentous cyanobacterium commonly found in benthic microbial mats in marine and brackish environments. It forms fascicles — bundles of trichomes enclosed within a common sheath — and is an important contributor to mat structure and productivity. Its conservation status is not evaluated.
