Tychonema tenue is a filamentous cyanobacterium in the family Oscillatoriaceae, forming thin, straight or slightly wavy trichomes without sheaths. It is found in freshwater habitats including lakes and rivers, and some species in the genus are associated with cyanotoxin production.
