Kurthia huakuii is a Gram-positive rod-shaped bacterium in the family Planococcaceae, first characterized from Chinese environmental samples. Like other members of the genus, it is aerobic, non-spore-forming, and can be motile by peritrichous flagella at certain stages of growth. Members of the genus Kurthia are saprophytic bacteria found in soil, decaying organic matter, and animal products.
Kurthia senegalensis is a gram-positive, aerobic bacterium in the family Planococcaceae, first described from Senegal. Like other members of the genus, it forms rod-shaped cells that may transition to coccoid forms in older cultures and is found in environmental samples. Its conservation status is not evaluated.
